Slaheddine Maaref
Mr. Slaheddine Maaref is a Telecom Engineer.
Currently Mr. Maaref is the Senior Advisor to the Arab Regional Office of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-ARO). He is the Focal Point for the “Emergent Technologies” activities, and for the ITU-ARO Initiative: “ICT solutions for Entrepreneurship & Employment”.
Mr. Maaref has 30 years of experience in ICTs. He led the Design and Implementation of Major Telecommunication Projects. He conducted several studies related to ICT Development.
Mr. Maaref worked as a lecturer at Tunisian Universities for Computer Science and Network Planning.
Mr. Maaref was appointed, from 2011 to 2013, Vice-Chairman of the ITU Focus Group "Bridging the Gap: from Innovation to Standards". In 2012, he was elected Vice-Chairman of the ITU-T Study Group 13 (Future Networks), at the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly, WTSA 2012 in Dubai.
