Happiness Mzikazi Ntuli

Happiness Mzikazi Ntuli( known as Mzikazi) has academic qualifications in public health (Masters level) and sociology (Bachelors’ degree) with a strong multi-skilled program and research background with specific emphasis on HIV and AIDS, health, child development, Gender and Sexual and Reproductive Health.  She is also an entrepreneur and social development practitioner who is always looking to make a difference in her community, her country and the world. A prolific writer, researcher and student of life, she has a wealth of experience spanning over nineteen years in building the capacity of civil society organizations, private sector and public sector representatives on project management, business or enterprise development in various fields including health, gender, advocacy, HIV and AIDS, education, community development, child care and child development.  This experience combines management of complex community development programmes in support of the most vulnerable members of the community especially children and women.

Ms. Ntuli is a strategic plan facilitator and a trainer on Programme Cycle Management (both from a Rights Based Approach, Results Based Management and gender sensitive and responsive programming perspective) with a strong element of sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship.  These competencies have enabled her to effectively build teams, provide coaching and mentorship for staff and contribute to strategic appreciation, insights and vision to lead multi-dimensional programs and business ideas from inception / conceptualization to implementation, including monitoring, evaluation and learning.

Her working experience holding senior management positions have included working as Grant Administrator /Program Development Adviser (ADPP), Regional Health and Advocacy Adviser (SOS Children’s Villages), Essential Services Coordinator (Oxfam Great Britain); Program Manager (Oxfam Great Britain), Program Manager (Australian Agency for International Development), Deputy Program Manager (Department For International Development).  In these roles she was responsible for various portfolios including research information which was used as baseline information for developing proposals or informing strategies; coordinating teams, facilitating strategic planning processes, leading and coordinating advocacy and campaigns; proposal and business development; leading gender and health assessments (SOS Children’s Villages) findings of which were used as baseline data for the development of the gender policy in SOS Children’s Villages International and in the changes to the Health projects in SOS CV.
